Nearly a year after the game was originally released, Gearbox Software is still supporting Borderlands with downloadable content. The latest Borderlands DLC, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, finds the Vault Hunters (or Hunter) on a mission from the weapon manufacturing Hyperion Corporation. The team is tasked with stopping a renegade Claptrap, who is a sort of humorous mix of Star Trek’s Borg and Terminator’s Skynet, from taking over the world of Pandora....

The episode, which is one of two released on October 25, follows grave robber Masson (David Hewlett) who realizes that bodies of the recently deceased are being stolen from their coffins by rats, gold jewelry and all, and he decides to investigate when a prized cadaver is taken. Masson is then drawn into the rats’ underground lair, where he discovers multiple horrors, including a giant queen rat, and the grave robber has to use all his wits to try and survive and not be buried alive....
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is setting itself up to be a little different from previous titles in the series, though. The developers behind the original BioShock clearly aren’t lacking where inventive atmospheres are concerned, and the innovations that plasmids brought to standard shooting was a welcome change. In all honesty, taking the same tone, subject matter, and combat into a new aerial setting would likely have been enough to satisfy with the sequel. Rather than coming in the form of a new series release or DLC, 2K Games has announced that BioShock Infinite: Complete Edition will soon be making its way onto store shelves. This re-release of the budding classic will come complete with the game itself and each of the released pieces of DLC. On Sunday, authorities in Santa Barbara County upgraded the previously issued evacuation warning to an evacuation order, making it unlawful for residents to remain in place as the storm approaches. Residents “west of Las Flores Canyon, east of Mariposa Reina, south of West Camino Cielo, and down to the ocean” were ordered to be out by noon, according to the county’s official statement. The Santa Barbara area was evacuated earlier in the month due to the spread of the Alisal wildfire, KCBX reported, which had burned through at least 8,000 acres by the time the warning was issued....

Now, 2K and Gearbox have announced that 2015 will see The Handsome Collection assemble the full Handsome Jack saga in one handy package. High definition versions of Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel will all be included in the collection, as well as all the downloadable content released for those titles....
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel wasn’t developed by Gearbox Software (Borderlands’ creator) and was instead made by 2K Australia. As a result, the game is a bit of a departure from typical Borderlands gameplay as players had to think about things like their oxygen level and there are also low-gravity sections and freeze weapons. Although the The Pre-Sequel offers something different, many critics enjoyed the new gameplay mechanics and they also praised the selection of playable characters....
Speaking to IGN about Borderlands 2, lead designer Jon Hemingway discussed how the new random encounter system will add some more tension to a player’s experience. Robots, courtesy of Hyperion Corporation, will deploy from space (presumably from a fancy satellite) and drop into a player’s area whenever Hyperion learns the player’s whereabouts. Hemingway says this will add an “interesting element of chaos” within the game. It would be hard to disagree with the man....
