In his opening statement on Monday, Taylor undermined Trump’s denial of withholding the funds for his political gain by saying that Trump ordered the Ukrainian president to “go to a microphone and say he is opening investigations of Biden and 2016 election interference.” Taylor said that U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland told him that “’everything’ was dependent on such an announcement, including security assistance.” “Every American should read his astounding testimony,” a Twitter user wrote with #BillTaylorIsAPatriot, and shared a link to text of Taylor’s 15-page statement....

The news doesn’t exactly come as a surprise, since the same argument of developing a new engine being counter-productive was used for Modern Warfare 3. Both leading studios behind the Call of Duty series obviously place great faith into the IW Engine, since it’s been the foundation of gameplay from 2007 to present. The engine has received plenty of upgrades and improvements since then, but every year that passes without a new engine unveiling leads to more critics crying complacency....

The Humane Society shared the news in a public Facebook post that has received over 1,500 likes and dozens of comments from people thanking the rescue team for saving the “precious” creature. According to the post, someone called HSHV about the possum—named Sylvester—after spotting him in the wild. At first, the rescue team thought maybe some sort of attack had left the possum blind. However, a more thorough examination told a different story....

The Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities episode, one of two released on Thursday, is based on a short story by H. P. Lovecraft and it follows Walter Gilman (Rupert Grint) who is desperately searching for a way to bring his dead twin sister, Epperley (Daphne Hoskins), back to life. While on his quest to do so he moves into the attic of a building known as the “Witch House” where he encounters the terrifying Keziah Mason (Lize Johnston), who begins targeting Walter and his dead sister for nefarious deeds of her own....

As it turns out, it’s a little of both. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare does have its own style but it still feels innately Call of Duty. Bombastic action sequences, cool weaponry, and a particular visual aesthetic, albeit with a shiny new graphics engine, are still on the menu for this year’s iteration, but with the franchise fully immersing itself in the next-gen many wonder whether that will be enough....

Gamestop’s Senior Vice President of Merchandising, Bob McKenzie, revealed that the pre-orders for his company have already surpassed the record-breaking numbers set by Infinity Ward’s MW2: This seems to match up with what Pacific Crest analyst Evan Wilson predicted back in July of this year. Wilson mentioned that he believes Black Ops will sell around 12 million units this holiday season because of the high number of pre-orders. Now, with the announcement from Gamestop confirming that pre-orders are indeed higher, it is looking like Black Ops will be another success for Activision....

To put those numbers into perspective the number one movie in America over the weekend, Megamind, only made $46 million. A movie ticket isn’t $60, but it still gives an idea of just how successful the launch of this game was. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick was quick to brag about how huge this series is and what it means for Activision: The last line of that quote from Kotick shows that Activision isn’t done making money of this game after it leaves the retail store....

This broke Activision’s previous record of $550 million in worldwide sales for last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and has shattered records across the board in all forms of entertainment, including box office, book and video game sales.
